Dashboard Widget Settings

Most dashboard widgets include a Settings/configuration (gear icon) that allows you to customise how the widget displays information.

The configuration options available depend on the widget being configured.

Common configuration options include:

  • Data filters
  • Reporting periods
  • Display options
  • Thresholds and warning levels
  • Number of records displayed
  • Chart and summary options
  • Performance targets (where applicable)

Some widgets provide only a small number of configuration options, while others offer more advanced settings depending on their purpose.

The available settings vary by widget. Not every widget includes the same configuration options.

Configuring Performance Widgets

Both Time Performance and Revenue Performance widgets can be customised to display the information most relevant to you.

Select the widget Settings icon to configure the widget.

Common configuration options include:

Time Performance Configuration

The Time Performance widget includes an additional setting:

SettingDescription
Billable Hours TargetSelect the Billable Hours Fee Target Set used when comparing recorded billable hours against target values.

Revenue Performance Configuration

The Revenue Performance widget allows separate targets to be configured for each financial metric.

SettingDescription
WIP TargetUsed for the Recorded performance view
Billing TargetUsed for the Billed performance view
Collection TargetUsed for the Collected performance view
Although the configuration screen uses the labels WIP Target, Billing Target, and Collection Target, the widget displays these metrics as:
  • Recorded (WIP Target)
  • Billed (Billing Target)
  • Collected (Collection Target)

Understanding Performance Widgets

The Time Performance and Revenue Performance widgets provide an interactive summary of productivity and financial performance. Each widget supports configurable reporting periods, performance targets and drill-down analysis, allowing users to investigate the transactions contributing to each metric

Time Performance Widget

Displays:

  • Actual Billable Hours
  • Target Billable Hours
  • Variance
  • Performance Status

The widget includes two complementary views that allow users to monitor both productivity and time allocation:

  • Billable Hours vs Target
  • Utilisation

Utilisation compares:

  • Billable Hours
  • Non-Billable Hours

Users can analyse performance using different reporting periods including:

  • This Month
  • Last Month
  • Year to Date
  • Financial Year
  • Selected Month
  • Comparison periods

Revenue Performance Widget

The Revenue Performance widget opens in the Billed view by default. Users can switch between Recorded, Billed and Collected to analyse performance at different stages of the billing lifecycle

Displays three performance views:

  • Recorded
  • Billed
  • Collected

Each view displays:

  • Actual Value
  • Target Value
  • Variance
  • Performance Status

Written-Off and Deleted Time

It is important to understand how written-off and deleted time affects dashboard metrics.

ScenarioBehaviour
Written-off timeContinues to contribute to Billable Hours and Revenue Performance because the work was recorded.
Deleted timeIs removed from performance calculations and reduces the values displayed on the charts.

Written-off entries remain visible because they reflect work that was completed, even if it was later written off financially.

Deleted entries are removed because the underlying time record no longer exists.

If figures appear higher than expected because time has been written off, drill down into the metric to identify entries with a Written Off status.

Drill Down

Both widgets support drill-down reporting.

Selecting a chart or metric opens the detailed transactions used to calculate the displayed values.

Users can review:

  • Recorded work
  • Written-off entries
  • Billing information
  • Collection information
