Billing Category - Firm Settings
Overview
This category controls firm-wide billing behaviour and time recording standards.
It defines how invoices are issued, approved, timed, and priced across the system.

This setting controls whether invoices are automatically marked as Approved for Receipt.
Behaviour
| Setting | System Behaviour |
|---|---|
| ON | Invoices are automatically approved for receipt once normal criteria are met |
| OFF | Invoices require manual approval before becoming receipt-eligible |
Key Use Case
- Primarily used for trust-to-office and bulk transfer workflows.
- If disabled, invoices will NOT appear in transfer-ready lists until manually approved.

- Billing Grades can represent levels of seniority or classification
- Each grade is assigned a billing rate
- Time recorded inherits the rate linked to that grade
