Office Matter to Matter Transfer Requisition

Overview

An Office Matter to Matter Requisition is used to request the movement of Office credit funds from one matter to another.

This process is for raising and approving the request only. Actual funds transfer is completed separately by the Accounts Team.


Creating a Requisition

Step 1 – Open the Source Matter

  • Navigate to the matter from which funds are to be requested.
  • On the right-hand side, click the + next to Requisitions.
  • Select Matter to Matter Request.

Step 2 – Request Screen

  • The Request Matter to Matter Transfer screen appears.
  • Select Office as the Ledger Type.
  • The From Matter fields are pre-populated.

Step 3 – Enter Transfer Details

  • Select the Cash Account.
  • Enter the Amount requested for transfer.
The system displays the available Office balance. If a Credit Note balance exists, it will also display.

Step 4 – Specify Transfer Parameters

  • Enter the Required On Date for the transfer.
  • Provide a Reason for the request.

Step 5 – Select Target Matter

  • In the Transfer To field, search for the matter to receive funds by typing the Matter Number or Name.
Only the requisition request is being created at this stage. Funds are not yet transferred; approval is required.

Assigning an Approver

  • In the Approver field, start typing the name of the approver.
  • Select the approver from the list at the bottom right.
  • Click Request at the bottom right.

The approver can now view, approve, and initiate the actual transfer.


Best Practices

  • Always verify available balances before creating a requisition.
  • Provide a clear reason and required date to facilitate approval.
  • Assign the correct approver to prevent delays.
  • Use this process only for requests, not the actual transfer.
